Pocket God Review
Pocket God Review for ipod Touch and iPhone
I bought this app, withing weeks of it’s release and I have to say it’s come far. The developers are somewhat famous for providing the app with a weekly update to Pocket God. Though in recent times, this has become rather flawed in most recent times updates have taken a long time to come out; this however has been blamed onto Apple. That aside, updates still come a lot faster than any other app I’ve encountered and Bolt Creative (The guys behind this app) seem to be very close with their community.

Torturing David is always fun
For those who don’t know what the application is actually about, I’m here to explain. You view over an island with up to 6 ‘islanders’ living there. There isn’t actually an overall objective, which is odd but it works. You have numerous ways to kill and torture the little guys; Feed them to a shark, drown them and strike them by lightning to name a few. The controls are basic, but run brilliantly. A quick sweep of the sun switches it to night and vise versa. Picking up the very few items is simple, but it does the job.

A volcano erupting is just one way to kill everyone
The graphics are smooth, I’ve never had any frame problems. The game starting up is speedy and I’ve never had a crash. Listening to your wn music is fine though it does stop all sound effects from the app.

Argubly the best update for Pocket God implemented names for the islanders, each with there own stats, showing what they’ve been killed by and how many times.
Due to the way the app works, lifespan is limited whichis why the constant updates is important. After playing with the new update for 10 minutes, that’s usually it for the week. No rewards or progress doesn’t give the app much replay value. That’s where Bolt Creative step in, they listen to there customers and with this idea I feel no developer could’ve done much of a better job. It’s an original idea which has been well implemented, 15 updates in and Bolt are still going strong.
Scores on the Doors:
Graphics: 5/5 – It looks brilliant, the updates certainly never look out of place and blendit perfectly.
Lifespan: 2.5/5 – If the updates didn’t come out as often, this score would certainly be lower.
Controls: 5/5 – As smooth as a baby’s bottom.
Innovation: 5/5 – I for one haven’t seen anything like it and it’s implemented brilliantly.
Overall: 4.375/5 – It’s not perfect but it certainly deserves it’s high place inthe app store, if you haven’t got this yet I certainly recommend it.
