40 Days of Blog – David Day 7

Hello fellow followers…

My talk of the day today is about Twitter, the most addictive thing since xbox live. Twitter is the new almost blog/texting program which has started taking over the online community. image

Let me explain, you sign up to the site at twitter.com, then you have the option to follow people. This is where, when someone tweets (sends out the twitter message) you receive it.

The message they send is max. 140 characters. It’s a little bit like an instant blog. And similar to an online (FREE) text messaging service.

So say you follow Barack Obama and Me, every so often you would receive Tweets which I have sent out, for e.g:
Have you checked out this photo: examplelink.com/fail image

It is used to alert people about what they are doing, in my opinion it is a great way to follow some of your friends.

The best thing about it is, you can have all these messages in your internet browser (only firefox I’m afraid) so its not an annoying processor demanding program like MSN. If you recieve a tweet there is a little popup in the corner of the web browser, and if you want to reply to it or tweet you just press the icon and type!

To receive the tweets there are a number of ways to do it, click here to find out! My favourite is Twitterfox for firefox

Skiing Blog – Day 1 Skiing

I woke up at around 8am, I wandered out to the balcony and was greeted by this spectacular view:

I had a huge breakfast of 2 bowls of cereals, 2 plates of fresh fruit and some hash browns. We jumped straight onto the slopes down to the nearest chairlift and went on runs from there! I found my feet rather quickly and was really enjoying the day. We managed loads of blues and reds, and even 2 blacks on the first day! We arrived home at 4.30 had afternoon tea, then our main meal (which was considerably better than the previous night..) We came back to the room at around 9pm and watched the hilarious fall of one of our friends:

Weather: 8/10 Sunny and clear skies, but very cold 1c  -  -7c
Snow: 9/10 Excellent conditions, very little ice and compact snow. Plenty of snow
Runs:
Blue: 6
Red: 10
Black: 2

Route we took:
Hotel > Granges (b) > Chevrelles x2(r) > Fenetres(r) > Yeti(bl) > Ambreselles(r) > Rhodos(r) > Violletts(b) > Chevrelles(r) > Freux (b)> Le creux (bl)> Blanchots(r) >Raverettes(b) > Chamois (r)> Piste F(r) > Hotel (Lunch) > Piste B (b)> Crocus (b)> (Les Gets) > Bruyene(b) > Piste F(r)

Thought of the day:

School children get paid to go to college to encourage them to learn (depending on their parents salary) but in 3rd world countries they have to pay for their education. (link)
